POW! Newsletter September 2019

Hi Friends!

Autumn is here, but things are hotting up in the POW! office after we received confirmation of our Arts Council funding last month, which means that there will definitely be a festival next year, come rain or shine!

Funding

Meanwhile, the fundraising never stops, and to ensure we continue to raise the standard of our festival and community projects, we are busy securing additional finance from other sources. As always, we rely on public donations to support our work. If you’d like to donate to support POW!’s community work, we’d be so grateful, please use the button below to donate £5 or more.
For donations over £20 the team will send you one of our beautiful posters (if you supply your address).

New projects

In the spirit of cooperatives, we are delighted to be launching a Women’s Action Group in Thanet later this year, which will bring together women from across the community to decide on POW!’s agenda for many years to come. We have also received financial backing in order to kickstart a new music project between emerging spoken word artist/poet, Amy True (more info here), and a number of young people from Thanet, brought together by our partner, Pie Factory Music. More information on both projects to follow. Watch this space!
