The POW! team are so excited to share with you the first wave of events that you can get involved with for our 2021 festival, which has the theme of POWer in Protest!

Due to Covid, the POW! team have reimagined our 2021 festival as online events and window displays, so that we can still bring creativity, joy and inspiration to Thanet at this time when everyone needs it most.

Events we have announced today include an inspiring panel talk by women from the design industry sharing their experience, powerful Covid-safe shop-window art exhibitions in Margate and Ramsgate, and a radiophonic poem.

Explore the events announced today here to discover what you can enjoy from the safety of your own home.

More events will be added over the coming weeks, so do check back in with our website, and follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Free creative half term workshops on Zoom

Part one - Monday 15th February, 2 - 4pm
Part two - Friday 19th February, 2 - 4pm

No Ordinary Experience invite 16-25 year olds of Thanet to celebrate International Women's Day by coming together on Zoom for two free sessions of craft, drama and creative writing. All genders are welcome in this open space for unpicking traditional fairy tales and rewriting our own.

The workshops will explore personal stories of oppression and gender inequality, and discuss feminist and LGBTQ+ causes.

The work produced in these free workshops will be shared on social media (if you’re game…but you can still take part if not) as part of a UK-wide digital flashmob taking place on International Women's Day. Bring your ideas, your glitter, and yourself.

Spaces are free and limited. You must book a free ticket to attend. Tickets will allow you to attend both sessions.
