Arts Education Exchange music project
Arts Education Exchange’s latest project dedicated to empowering the voices of Thanets steadily growing LGBTQ+ scene has been collaborating with local band State of Mind.
The band members are currently all studying at local Kent colleges and describe themselves as 4-Piece Hard rock/Alt rock band writing songs to help people feel more accepted. State of Mind have collaborated with local queer female, transgender and non binary artists to explore identity, gender and sexualty. As a queer led band, they feel strongly about ensuring they express a diverse narrative in their songwriting.
The band have continued to be prolific creators during lockdown and have continued to create via Zoom writing sessions. Amounting to a commercial release of a new original composition on Arts Education Exchange's youth led record label AEE Recordings in Summer 2020. They feel that now is a particularly important time to promote unity and celebrate what makes us all beautifully unique.
