POW! are incredibly excited to have released three free training sessions online! These sessions are Journaling for Mental Health with Anna Hart, Marketing for Artists and Arts Organisations with Katie Hogben, and Risk Assessments Made Easy with Darryn de la Soul.

You can watch all these free training videos on POW!'s YouTube channel here.
These sessions are funded by Arts Council England.

Despite the pandemic, the POW! team are working hard planning the 2021 festival, which will take place over the 5th-8th March to celebrate International Women's Day on Monday 8th March - Put the dates in your diary!

The 2021 theme is 'Power in Protest,' and as usual we shall be encouraging the people of Thanet and beyond to get involved. The festival will be a little different to previous years, with a new approach to programming and adhering to all COVID-19 safety precautions relevant at the time, but it will have the same POW! spirit at its heart. We shall be releasing more information in the coming months, so stay tuned to our channels!

Last Sunday was International Day of Girl.  POW! are very proud of their commission for Margate Festival, which was a collective of 19-23 year old women from Thanet called Canvas For Equality who make work around feminism, race and equality.

On Saturday and Sunday they took over Elsewhere in Margate with panel conversations around intersectional feminism, race, gender equality, offering intelligent, practical solutions, interspersed with poetry, spoken word and rap.  Thank you to everyone involved for making it such a brilliant experience, we are honoured to be working with such empowered, inspiring young women and can't wait to see what they do next.
