Lana Vanzetta - the loss of one of POW!'s founders

We are very sad to hear about the death of Lana Vanzetta and our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.

Lana was one of the founding members of POW! in 2015, and we will always be grateful to her for her work. She was also the owner of Margate House and a champion of the Arts locally.

POW!’s founder Christina Clark-McQuaid has paid tribute to Lana saying she was “a wonderfully whacky, caring person who was passionately committed to helping women - especially those who were excluded, sidelined or with mental health problems. She turned the old Burtons building in Margate High Street into Margate House www.margatehouse.org - an incredible creative space; I was very fond of her.”

The Isle of Thanet News has a longer article with more tributes to this amazing woman.

A book of memories and messages is being created for Lana’s family. If you would like to contribute to this, please contact Judi McCartney - judi@independance.co.uk - who is coordinating this.
