Call out for donations of artwork to support POW

Each year, POW organises an Art Auction to raise additional funds to support our charitable work. We are blown away each year by the generosity of local artists who donate one (or more!) artworks for POW for us to auction off in November. Artists who have donated in the past include internationally renowned artists, recent graduates, and people who create for their own enjoyment including young people - everyone can create art!

After the success of last year’s in-real-life and online hybrid fundraising art auction, we are holding another exhibition this year so members of the public can see the artworks in person before they bid. This year the POW Art Auction exhibition will be at The Margate School in November, with the auction happening online via Jumblebee.

POW celebrates creativity and champions gender equality across Thanet. All funds raised will support our work in Thanet. We appreciate it's a big ask of an artist, but if it's something you can do, it would mean a great deal with regards to what we can produce for the festival and the community engagement work we can achieve year round. This includes art projects with local schools, supporting young people developing their career skills, and providing opportunities for local marginalised people to engage with the arts.

The Auction and Exhibition are open to the public at The Margate School, 31-33 High Street, Margate, CT9 1DX:

  • Private View (open to all, refreshments available): Wednesday 2nd November, 18:00-21:00
